Using VirtualSP in your own teaching

VirtualSP is part of the curriculum at the Medical School OWL. Teaching staff from other faculties and universities can try the platform with trial access.

How to get started

  1. Step 1

    Request trial access

    You write to us describing the context in which you would like to use VirtualSP.

  2. Step 2

    Set up access

    We set up an account for you and show you the platform in a short call.

  3. Step 3

    Agree on a scenario

    You try existing scenarios, or we develop one together for your learning objective.

  4. Step 4

    Use in teaching

    You integrate the training into your course. We accompany the first run.

What teaching staff want to know

What do students need to install?

Nothing. The training runs in the browser; all that is needed is a microphone and an internet connection.

How do students get into the platform?

Through the university’s identity management (single sign-on). At Bielefeld University, all students sign in this way. The identity management passes on only a pseudonym, not a name: students train unrecognised.

How much preparation time does it take?

Existing scenarios can be used immediately. For a new scenario, we agree on the learning objective, the role and the conversation situation with you.

Can I create my own scenarios?

Scenarios are currently created together with our team. An interface that lets teaching staff create and maintain scenarios themselves is in preparation.

Can I see my students’ results?

What does it cost?
To clarify

Even “free of charge within a cooperation” is an answer, but it has to be stated here. Missing pricing information is the most common reason university cooperations stall.
